    The Lord's Supper

    In the three gospel accounts, we find that Jesus took bread, blessed it, broke it and   gave it to the disciples and told them to "take and eat; this is My body." Jesus blessed and prayed over the bread before it was broken. This was symbolic of His body as being whole and unblemished as He was offered as a sacrifice upon the cross. He was a perfect sacrifice and would provide many benefits for His disciples of that day and future.
